Oh, how they have sung about you and you did not disappoint. Land of the night lights. It's in this vibrant and beautiful city of lights that my fascination and love for everything neon began.
I spent 3 days here back in Christmas of 2018. Experiencing the polar night for the first time and the Northern Lights was truly a most magical experience.
I’ve started experimenting a little more with my photographs. It’s amazing how much you can do by playing with light and reflections.
What an adventure!
I met incredible people on my journey. We travelled together and visited Coron (a personal favourite), El Nido and Bohol.
I can’t wait to come back to visit the rest.
April 2017, went with a good friend of mine sort of last minute. Looking back at the photos now, and I understand why Denmark makes the list for the happiest people in the world.
Denmark, to me, is the epitome of Hygge. Copenhagen is no longer a Scandinavian destination but emblems the warm feeling of a cup of hot chocolate on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
I started my 2 months backpacking trip by visiting Boracay, the Philippines party island that got a make-over and reopened its doors to tourists in 2019. I was surprised to still see the ravages of the 2004 tsunami on most sea-side infrastructures. Although some buildings have been repaired, many still have a portion of their home exposed.
One of Boracay’s biggest attraction is the kitesurf, most people I met come and call this island home for a few weeks just to learn to kitesurf. I have to say I was quite tempted, but my time there was too short to begin a course.
Although Boracay remains quite touristy we were able to find a pristine white sandy beach at the very tip of the island called Pukka beach. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my camera along so you will have to just take my word for it. Besides the beaches, sunsets here are quite glorious.
What’s the best thing to do after a 24h shift at the hospital? Why not go for brunch followed by a spontaneous shoot at the Mima Museum of course!
Headed back to my birth town of Avignon a few springs ago and took the opportunity to visit my sister and my adorable nephews in Marseille. There’s a definite raw charm to Marseille that I tried to capture through my photographs.
I initially went to Osaka, Japan to work at the Osaka City University in the OBGYN department. It was a rich learning experience and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to go there. During the weekends, and the week prior to starting my elective, I travelled across Japan and visited Tokyo, Hakone and Mount Fuji, Osaka and my favourite, Kyoto.
Japan is one of those places that no matter how often you go, there’s always a need to go back.
First trip using a DSLR. I experienced the most beautiful sunsets here. I remember taking my car after work to catch the last few rays of sun enjoying the sand under my toes, and on weekends I’d go beach hopping and explore the island. It’s also over here that I picked up my first surfboard, and I must say I was ambitious. Without any training, I headed into the water and nearly killed myself when I got caught in a current that led me to some sharp rocks. Rookie mistake. Anyway, what I love about photography is an image taken years ago can get reborn with a fresh edit. Just finished working on these, enjoy :)
Little family trip to Niagara Falls and the cute town of St-Catherines
The most colourful and vibrant city I’ve ever visited. I had a long layover in Singapore, about 30 hours before I ended my South East Asia trip last spring.
